DO you recognise any of these smartly dressed Worcester workers?

The 1930s photograph showing a group of employees from can manufacturing company Metal Box - now Carnaud Metalbox PLC but still situated in Perry Wood, Worcester - was sent in by David Everett, of Trimpley Drive, Kidderminster.

Sitting in the front row, fourth from the left, is Mr Everett's late uncle Harold Everett.

Mr Everett, who found the picture in a relative's attic, believes it was taken in or around 1936, just before Harold - who was suffering from Tuberculosis - was transferred to the company's branch in Cape Town, South Africa, for the sake of his health.

"I sent a copy of the picture to Denis Walker, the author of the History of the Metal Box Co," said Mr Everett.

"Amazingly, he was able to identify several people but there are still a number of unknowns."

If you recognise anyone in the picture get in touch with Mr Everett by emailing david@dmeverett.fsnet.co.uk Alternatively, write to Lauren Rogers, Worcester News Editorial, Berrows House, Hylton Road, Worcester, WR2 5JX.
