A POPULAR music festival is returning to Worcester this September.

The Worcester Music Festival is returning for its eleventh consecutive year this September.

The festival was originally founded in 2008, featuring a wide variety of performances and free music related workshops.

The festival takes place in more than 20 venues in Worcester City Centre, hosting around 250 bands over three days as well as a number of workshops.

There will be live music across the city, from pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes to historic buildings, record shops, on the streets and even in breweries.

In 2018 and 2019, there were also gigs in a tattoo studio and on a boat.

All major genres will be heard at the festival, with previous bands that have played the festival including Peace, Xova, Virgil and the Accelerators, No Cars and many, many more.

The festival's workshops are for both adults and children, including drum clinics, Q&As with industry experts and learning an instrument or singing in a pop choir.

Amateur photographers of any age or experience can also enter the annual photography competition held at the festival.

Every year, the festival chooses to support a different local charity, raising money over the course of the musical weekend.

Over £60,000 has been raised for charity by the festival in its 11-year history.

The event is non-profit and is entirely run by a team of volunteers.

This year, the festival will be held from September 16 to 18 and will be entirely free to attend.
