A POWERFUL play evoking the real and imagined world of the three Bronte sisters is being staged at Worcester Arts Workshop.
The Malvern-based Perfect Circle Theatre Company will present Bronte, a brand new piece by Polly Teale, on Friday, February 15, and Saturday, February 16.
Premiered by Shared Experience in a production directed by the author, the play questions how three spinsters living in West Yorkshire could have written such passionate novels.
It portrays their boredom, gives insight into their relationship with their brother and even sees the fictional characters from their novels come back to haunt their creators. Critics have described the play as "breathtaking", "genuinely moving", and "a rare feat of theatrical imagining".
Perfect Circle was formed by Claire Revitt and Lee Farley in November 2006.
The company - which aims to produce contemporary work and explore modern theatre practice via productions, workshops and education packages - is currently running a course playwriting at St Mark's Church Hall, in Bath Road, Worcester.
The 13-week course, which starts tomorrow and costs £65, will teach youngsters aged from five to 13 years old the ins and outs of crafting a play.
