A NEW headteacher has taken the helm at a village primary school near Worcester.

Adrian Osborne has assured parents of children at Kempsey Primary School that he is "here to stay" and has set out a new vision for the school.

Mr Osborne, who has moved from a school in Gloucestershire, held two special meetings for parents to introduce himself and get ideas and suggestions. He said: "I plan to be an open headteacher who is here to stay for the foreseeable future. I'm here now and I plan to stay."

Mr Osborne, who lives near Ross-on-Wye with his wife and two young children, praised the work of the staff at the school and the pupils.

He said: "I want to build on the wonderful team already here to take this lovely school forward. Our vision is exceptional education with respect for ourselves, each other and our environment.

"I believe we can make this into an excellent school."

Mr Osborne said he hoped to develop a new ICT suite at the school and re-organise other rooms to make more use of the space available.
