MULTIPLE roads throughout Worcester will be closed due to The Queen’s Baton Relay.

The Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay will travel through Worcester city centre on Friday, July 22 from 5.30 pm to 7.15pm.

Road closures for all vehicles, including bicycles, will be in effect while the Queen’s Baton Relay is in the immediate vicinity.

There will be a total of 27 road closures throughout the day on the following roads:

  • Angel Place (Angel St to Broad St) 4.30pm to 6.30pm
  • Bank Street 4.30pm to 6.30pm
  • Broad Street 4.30pm to 6.30pm
  • Castle Street 15 mins road closure between 6.30pm and 7pm
  • Cherry Tree Walk 12pm to 10pm
  • Church Street 4.30pm to 6.30pm
  • College Green (partial closure) 4.30pm to 6.30pm
  • College Precincts 4.30pm to 7pm
  • College Street 15 mins road closure between 5.30pm and 7pm
  • College Yard 4.30pm to 6.30pm
  • Croft Road 15 mins road closure between 6.30pm and 7pm
  • Deansway (between Fish Street and College Street) 15 mins road closure between 5.30pm and 7pm
  • Grandstand Road (from Croft Road car park to Worcester Racecourse) 15 mins road closure between 6.30pm and 7pm
  • High Street and Cathedral Square 4.30pm to 6.30pm
  • Hylton Road (Retail Park to Henwick Road) 5.30pm to 8pm
  • Infirmary Walk 12pm to 10pm
  • Netherton Court 12pm to 10pm
  • New Road 15 mins road closure between 6pm and 7pm
  • Pump Street 4.30pm to 6.30pm
  • Queen Street (Car Park access to The Trinity) 4.30pm to 6pm
  • St Swithin’s Street 4.30pm to 6pm
  • The Cross 4.30pm to 6pm
  • The Shambles 4.30pm to 6.30pm
  • The Trinity 4.30pm to 6pm
  • Trinity Street 4.30pm to 6pm
  • Tybridge Street (between Retail Park and Hylton Road) 15 mins road closure between 6pm and 7pm
  • Worcester Bridge (westbound direction only, including Bromwich Parade) 15 mins road closure between 6pm and 7pm

Pedestrian access will be available throughout the course of the day, and there may be additional closures or time changes on the day to ensure the safe running of the event.
