INSTITUTE of Directors members in Herefordshire and Worcestershire are to have a top-level briefing on how to make the most of business opportunities in their area through the European and UK governments.
Mid-Worcestershire MP Peter Luff, who is chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, will be sharing his thoughts with Institute of Directors members during an evening seminar at Cotswold Conference Centre, Broadway, on Thursday, February 21.
Michael Greensmith, chairman of the IoD's Hereford & Worcester branch, said: "As a local MP, Peter Luff is well known to all of us and he has been invited to an open discussion evening to share his thoughts on how regional and local companies can capitalise on current and future business opportunities using the support and initiatives of the European and UK governments.
"His visit to us is particularly relevant as in 2008 his committee is holding a major inquiry into maintaining a higher added-value economy and it will be visiting the West Midlands during the years to listen to evidence from business leaders.
"Having toured India in his parliamentary role, he is also well placed to provide first hand insights into the opportunities of growth in the Far Eastern tiger economies."
He will also be discussing the opportunities presented by Europe and the UK's move towards a low-carbon economy by the end of the decade.
The event will run from 6.30pm.
