FLOOD heroes who helped people hit by the torrential rain over the summer will benefit from a sale to raise funds for them.

The Big Bargain Bazaar will take place on Wednesday, February 13 at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, in aid of the County Air Ambulance and Mercia Inshore Search and Rescue (MISAR).

The sale will be opened by radio star Trevor Harrison, of Kinnersley, who plays Eddie Grundy in the Radio 4 series The Archers.

He will be joined by a flying doctor, a trapeze artist, and pilates teacher for the event.

Organiser Charlotte Carver is putting on the first ever Worcestershire sale of sales'.

She said: "The devastation caused by last summer's floods could have been so much worse if it hadn't been for the help of these two services. The MISAR team alone rescued 67 people in four days which was tremendous, and operations like this cannot carry on without our support, because neither charity receives any government funding."

The sale of sales' will include independent designer clothes, shoes and accessories as well as toys, games and gifts.

Over 30 specially selected Charity Fairs Association member stallholders are offering bargains of up to 50 per cent off their normal prices.

Entrance is via the main gate with free parking next to Severn Hall and costs just £3, and 50p for those aged between five and 15.
