She said: “A police car parked up just down the road and an officer came up to me and said ‘excuse me madam but can you go in your house, lock all the doors and windows, and make sure your family are safe.
“Then in came another five or so cars with armed officers.”
According to residents, this was not the first time police had been to the estate this week.
One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “I have never seen so many armed police officers in my life.
“I don’t know what happened exactly but there was just a massive police presence.
“This was the second time this week that something has happened.”
Another resident who wished to remain anonymous added: “It was like being on your own movie set.
He said: “There was quite a police presence.
“We were given no indication as to what was going on but with the amount of police there were, it must have been quite serious.
“A neighbour came and told me we needed to stay inside and can’t leave.
“We just hid out in the garden and the police seemed to have it all under control
“A couple of nights ago something similar happened.”
Police had left the estate by 11pm.
