THERE was joy among a healthcare team as they found out they were nominated in the Worcester Health and Social Care Awards 2022.
The Pershore team at Social Care Academy has been put forward for The Health Care Team Award.
They were nominated by Kellie Fortey who joined the team in February this year.
She said: "Having joined this team in February of this year, I have heard wonderful sentiments about the care assistants of Pershore from the clients themselves, and have not only continued to work throughout the pandemic but have offered reassurance and guidance when needed.
"By utilising all PPE to avoid cross-contamination and to avoid the spread, the clients have felt safe with all carers at all times."
Ms Fortey added there was continuous communication between the team to ensure that clients received "person-centred care".

She added: "The Pershore team have also ensured all clients receive their scheduled appointments even during staff illness by continuing to communicate and go above and beyond by covering appointments not originally allocated to themselves.
"Care of the clients is very important to the care assistants who have built wonderful connections to each and every one.
"High functioning teamwork between the care assistants of Pershore has not only ensured that all CQC standards are met but also that person-centred care has been of a high calibre over an extended period of uncertainty.
"I feel the team deserve recognition for going above and beyond whilst providing continuous exceptional care."
