A television star from Worcester will be returning to the city for a performance on their home turf later this month.
Ginny Lemon, most famous for appearing on the iconic TV show RuPaul's Drag Race UK, is set to perform at Huntingdon Hall.
A spokesperson from Huntingdon Hall said: "Ginny Lemon is a Midlands-based singer-songwriter, improvisational comedienne, TV personality, character actor and spiritualist.
"Their work explores the intersections of their working class identity, queerness, disability and humour.
"Ginny’s distinct acidic wit, aesthetic and unique perspective on life have made them one of the UK’s most celebrated drag artists.
"A breakout star of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 2, they have performed to sell-out audiences across the UK and made several television appearances for BBC, ITV and Channel 4, including the X-Factor, Joe Lycett's Got Your Back and Celebrity Coach Trip.
"Their previous work includes as creator of Ginny Lemon’s Pick ‘n’ Mix resident at the Village Inn, Birmingham, a co-creator cast member for Fantabulosa: A Drag Show For Kids, and opening for legendary queer director & comedian John Waters.
"They are currently developing their first studio album, Tonic, scheduled for release in summer 2022, supported by Arts Council, England."
Ginny Lemon recently donated an iconic costume to Museums Worcestershire in celebration of Vesta Tilley.
At the time, Ginny Lemons said: “I am delighted to have my Vesta costume on display at Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum.
"As a queer artist who lives and works in the county, I feel it is a great honour to highlight and represent the historic queerness of Worcestershire and the West Midlands.”
They appeared on the second UK season of RuPaul's Drag Race and caused a stir when they walked off in the middle of a lip sync against Sister Sister.
The performance will take place on Saturday, July 30 at 7.30 pm and is suitable for people aged sixteen and over.
