The list of nominees for the UK Theme Park Awards 2022 has been announced and Alton Towers is up for 14 awards and West Midland Safari Park has been nominated for two.
The Awards are split up into 22 categories and this year sees many categories return including Theme Park of the Year, Best Customer Service and Best Value and new ones have also been added such as Best Steel Coaster, Best Wooden Coaster and Best Mascot.
For the third year, the British public can vote for their favourite rides, attractions, shows and events in the national awards.

How to vote for your favourite theme park in the UK Theme Park Awards 2022
Voting opens on Friday, July 22 and will close on Friday, September 2.
It will be available to do via the UK Theme Park Awards website.
Until then, you can enter your name and email to be reminded when the vote is open.
The votes will be combined with those of the Expert Judges to generate the final results, which will then be announced at this year’s awards event on Thursday, 22 September, hosted by Drayton Manor.

Alton Towers and West Midland Safari Park nominated for awards
The shortlist has been created and Alton Towers has been nominated for the following awards with some categories having more than one nomination for the attraction:
- Theme Park of the Year presented by ADIPS
- Best Theme Park for Families (Large) presented by Vennersys
- Best Theme Park for Toddlers presented by BALPPA – Cbeebies Land
- Best Theme Park for Thrills presented by Guinness World Records
- Best Steel Coaster presented by the European Coaster Club – Nemesis, Oblivion and The Smiler
- Best Wooden Coaster presented by the Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain – Wicker Man
- Best Dark Ride presented by Katapult – Duel, Gangsta Granny: The Ride and Hex
- Best Live Entertainment presented by TAG Live - Andy’s Adventures Dinosaur Dig
- Best Play Experience - Hey Duggee’s Big Adventure Badge
- Best Halloween Event presented by The Business Creative – Scarefest
- Best Christmas Event presented by Blachere Illumination – Lightopia
- Best Social Media Engagement presented by Convious
- Best Customer Service presented by Attractions.io
- Best value
West Midland Safari Park has been nominated for Best Play Experience with its Boj’s Giggly Park and Best Christmas Event presented by Blachere Illumination for its Santa Safari.
Other contenders for the awards include Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Thorpe Park, LEGOLAND Windsor and more.
The awards will also acknowledge the growing community of theme park content creators with three awards; Blogger of the Year, YouTuber of the Year and Instagrammer of the Year.
