FANS of Channel 4's Countdown programme have been watching a Worcester man outwit his opponents.
Ian Lamb, cashbook team supervisor at Sanctuary Group in the city, has proven he is the king of conundrums on the quiz show.
He first appeared in the TV show on Tuesday and won the chance to reappear yesterday and again tonight. Fans will have to tune in at 3.25pm today to see if he wins again.
The 44-year-old, who lives in Worcester, made it through to the TV screenings of the programme after successfully passing the audition process before Christmas.
He said: "I've watched Countdown for some considerable time and thought I could give some of the contestants a run for their money. However, I never applied as I thought nerves would get the better of me.
"Fortunately my wife had belief in my ability and encouraged me to try for an audition. I'm glad she did as it's an experience I would recommend to anyone.
"The staff at the studio make everyone feel welcome and relaxed and you are put at ease by Des O'Connor and the lexicographers throughout the show."
