THE OPENING date for the new entertainment venue Dart Side has been revealed.
The old fruit and veg market has been transformed into a dart venue and bar by business owners Mike Davis and Dan Charlton.
Mr Davis owns the Arch Rivals pub and Mr Charlton is the owner of Axe Junkies in The Arches and their new project Dart Side is set to be a fusion of both worlds.
The new venue is opening on Saturday, July 2 and will offer customers interactive darts, a pool table, a bar and restaurant area and unique shuffleboards shipped from America.
Mr Davis said: "It's just the little bits now. But by Wednesday we will be taking bookings for the following week.
"It's been a long and hard process and lots of late nights, turning what was a restaurant into a new venture for the people of Worcester to enjoy.
"We're going to build the menu as the place develops and work out what people want to eat and what is quick and easy for them while they are playing darts and other games."
Mr Charlton said: "Worcester needs a place like this and we are pleased to offer something like this to Worcester."
Mr Davis said: "A lot of our friends and families have helped us to make this happen.
"My father-in-law Micheal Payne, who is a legend, was the first person to use the dartboard at the Dart Side.
"He has been in here painting and he's been very supportive throughout all of this.
"We want it to be family orientated and opening early on Saturday and Sunday will encourage the kids to come along.
"We're not trying to become a nightclub, we are not going to open till very late."
The Shuffleboards
The shuffleboards have been imported from America and are yet to arrive at the venue.
Mr Charlton said: "I always thought darts would be the biggest draw-in, but it's the shuffleboards."

Mr Davis said shuffleboards are something quite unique to Worcester and not that many people know what it is.
He added: "We've had lots of interest, but the shuffleboards have been the biggest interest. I don't think as of yet, there are shuffleboards in Worcester."
Dart Side will be opening its doors on Saturday, July 2 at 10am.
