Patients are being warned of long waits to be seen at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust’s website says the longest current waiting time to be seen by a nurse or doctor at the hospital’s A&E department is 10 hours and 31 minutes.
The website says 31 patients are waiting to be seen, but warns that this is only the number of people waiting for an initial assessment.
There could be many more people inside the department waiting for treatment, having already been assessed.
Dozens of ambulances are waiting outside the emergency department and First Worcester has warned of delays on the buses because of congestion around the hospital.
It said there were 20-minute delays on both the 34 and X38 services.
The trust’s website says there are ‘current longest waiting times’ of an hour and 56 minutes at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and of an hour and 24 minutes at Kidderminster Hospital.
