WORK begins this weekend to upgrade Upton-upon-Severn library to include a customer service centre and police station.
The library will close at 5.30pm on Saturday and will re-open on Monday, April 14.
It will be extended to incorporate space for residents to ask questions about Worcestershire County Council and Malvern Hills District Council, as well as access police services.
Jane McCallum, the county council's libraries development team area co-ordinator, said: "Because the newly extended and refurbished building will combine the library with a customer service centre and local police, it is an excellent example of working with local partners to provide a building with extra community focus. In addition the library will have a new look."
During the closure, people can access library services at Malvern Library, which is open 9.30am until 5.30pm on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 9.30pm until 8pm Tuesday to Thursday. Call 01684 561223 for further details.
Alternatively, an interim mobile library service will be available on the church car park from Monday, February 18, until Friday, April 11.
It will be available on Mondays from 1.30pm until 3.45 pm and on Wednesdays and Fridays between 9am and 11.45am.
