GROWING up in Worcester there are certain experiences that can feel like a rite of passage because we have all done them at some point.

From certain nightclubs, restaurants and cafes to the things that make your hometown unique - these are the things you only really understand if you grew up in the city.

Worcester News readers have revealed the one thing they think everyone has experienced growing up in the city.

Fallen down the spiral staircase in Tramps

A lot of us have had messy nights out at Tramps nightclub in Angel Place.

And that often leads to one thing - falling down the spiral staircase.

If you haven't done it, you've witnessed someone doing it.

Our readers seem to agree with us on this and one said: "done that twice. Broke wrist then broke my ankle. Old tramps."

Another one said: "oh God worst I did was break my heel on my shoe, grabbed the rail on the way down."

School Trips

The Cathedral is a beautiful and historical part of Worcester, which is probably why we all have distinct memories of visiting the Cathedral on a school trip.

Not to mention school trips to the Commandery and people in our class telling us that it's haunted.

Climbed a Christmas Tree

This one might be a little niche, but has anyone ever climbed the Christmas tree on Cathedral roundabout on New Years Ever?

One of our readers claims they have and surely, they can't be the only one?

Spotted the Whittington Tump and thought 'Home'

There is something reassuring about seeing the tree on the hill from the M5 motorway near junction seven - aka the Whittington Tump.

To many travelling on the northbound carriageway, it means one thing - almost home.

Whether it is part of your daily commute or you see it on your way back from a holiday, that feeling is uniquely Worcester.

Reader Katherine Baker said: "Seen the tree on the hill northbound just before junction7 and said 'home'".

Siobhan Louise added: "Spotted the tree on the hill when coming down the motorway."
