Ambulance staff who attended the scene at Worcester Woods following reports of a man in the water battled to save his life.
However, despite administering advanced life support, the man was sadly pronounced dead at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a patient in the water at Worcester Woods Country Park at 7.50am.
"Two ambulances, two paramedic officers and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.
"On arrival we discovered one male patient who was in a critical condition.
"Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support which continued enroute to Worcester Royal Hospital.
"However, shortly after arrival at hospital it sadly became apparent nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased."
