RESIDENTS who took part in Clap for Heroes during the lockdowns came together once again to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee on Sunday, June 5.
Organiser John Turner said: “The neighbours came out to clap the NHS workers, and began talking.
“From that a WhatsApp group began, which now has more than 50 members.
“A residents association then formed, and now here we are here having organised a picnic in the park to celebrate the jubilee.
“The weather has been disappointing, but people have still come out throughout the afternoon.

“We have put on a treasure hunt, a make your own crown craft event, and facts about the Queen have been hung up (as part of the bunting).
"The Action for Children charity have been here too, bring children’s toys to play with.
“We have got a really strong sense of community here, and it is growing.
“We have lived here 25 years and never used to know the neighbours – now we do.”
