Once again we are delighted to be launching the Worcestershire Health and Social Care Awards.
As we begin to emerge from the Coronavirus pandemic we do so with a new found appreciation and admiration for those who work so tirelessly to care for our communities.
Whether a doctor, nurse, carer, mental health worker or health care assistant, we want to show our appreciation as a community – and what better way to do so than with a special awards scheme for all the health and social care workers in Worcestershire.
We are launching these awards across all of our titles in Worcestershire - Worcester News, Malvern Gazette, Evesham Journal, Bromsgrove & Droitwich Advertiser, Redditch Advertiser and The Shuttle.
Across our city, towns and villages we will together shine a light on this vital sector and all those who work in it. Our awards will honour all the incredible health and care workers both at individual and team level, who are at the heart of our communities.
Regional Editor Stephanie Preece said: "Last year's awards showed us just how remarkable our nurses, doctors, carers and healthcare professionals are and how lucky we are to have them.
"Once again we cannot wait to share the stories of our local care heroes nominated for one of our awards and look forward to creating a permanent record of their incredible achievements.
"Please take the time to nominate someone - it only takes a few minutes."
The awards are being staged in conjunction with the University of Worcester and would not be possible without our generous sponsors: Insitu (sponsoring the Healthcare Team Award), Worcestershire County Council (Care Hero Award), Clarendon Group (Care Home Worker Award), Provincial Grand Lodge of Worcestershire (Healthcare Employer Award), Caremark (Domiciliary Care Worker Award), Newmedica (The Good Nurse Award), Cambian (Adolescent and Child Healthcare Award), Sanctuary Care (The Dementia Carer Award), NHS Herefordshire & Worcestershire Health & Care Trust (The Mental Health Award).
There are 12 categories in total – to nominate someone click here
The awards will culminate in a virtual awards ceremony on Thursday, October 13 at 7pm.
