A COURT date has been set for a man who faces drink driving and other charges after a car crashed into a home.
Florin Stanciu, of Bath Road, Worcester, faces three charges; drink driving, driving without a license and driving without insurance.
The particulars of the offences are Stanciu is alleged to have driven a BMW in Bath Road on May 20, when he had 49mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, exceeding the drink drive limit which is 35mcg.
And it is alleged, on the same day, he drove when he did not have a licence authorising him to drive a motor vehicle of that class, and did not have a policy of insurance.
The 33-year-old is set to appear at a first hearing at courtroom two of Worcester Magistrates Court, on June 30.
The hearing is expected to last around 20 minutes.
Stanciu was arrested after a BMW crashed into a house in St Wulstans Court, off Bath Road, waking up neighbours in the early hours of that morning.
The collision left the silver BMW’s front bumper hanging off and a wheel almost completely destroyed.
The garden wall was also damaged by the crash.
At the scene after the crash a woman told us: “The car was completely written off I assume.
“It did a lot of damage to the vehicle and the wall as well.”
A neighbour living opposite the house, said: “I was in bed but my husband was literally walking out the door when he heard the car hit the building."
West Mercia Police later issued a statement which said: “Just after 5.30am this morning (Friday 20 May), officers were called to Bath Road, Worcester, following reports that a car had collided with a wall.
“Florin Stanciu was arrested and has been charged with drink driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.”
