Worcester Cathedral is closed for several hours today because of a wedding.

In order to host the couple's wedding, the Cathedral is closed today from 11am until 1.30pm.

A spokesperson from Worcester Cathedral said: "Due to a wedding taking place at 12noon, the Cathedral will be closed for visiting between 11am and 1.30pm.

"We will endeavour to reopen earlier if possible."

On Worcester Cathedral's website they have outlined their criteria for whether or not you are able to host your wedding there.

Who can get married at Worcester Cathedral?

In response to the question "Can I get married at Worcester Cathedral?" A spokesperson from the Cathedral said: "Possibly. There are some criteria you would need to meet to be able to get married here.

"Please email the Chapter Secretary to make an enquiry at info@worcestercathedral.org.uk"

Some other planned closures will be taking place later in the month.

On Saturday, June 18 the Cathedral will be closed due to the Centenary Service for St John's Ambulance cadets taking place at 10am. 

For this reason, the Cathedral will be open from 11.30am until 5pm with last entry at 4.30pm.

The Cathedral's shop and cafe will be open as normal, from 10am - 4pm. 

On Thursday, June 23 the Cathedral opening hours will be different due to a service taking place in the Nave.

The Cathedral will be closed for general visiting between 1pm and 3.30pm.

The last entry for general visiting on this day will be at 12.30pm.
