PARENTS are being asked to relay their views on health-related issues.

Worcestershire County Council's parent partnership service is looking to organise a series of events across Worcestershire for parents and carers to attend.

These events would be aimed at ensuring the support and advice available is even more relevant and that it empowers them to make informed decisions. They would offer help and information on a range of topics, that promote the health and well-being of children and young people who do not access mainstream education. Parents are being asked to complete a short questionnaire to see what kind of information they require in order to meet their child's needs.

Topics will include sex and relationships, drug education, anti-bullying, financial awareness and nutrition and exercise. The consultation also gives parents the chance to say where and when they would like the events to be held.

Sue Brook, parent partnership service manager, said: "We acknowledge there is an ever-increasing pressure on parents with busy lifestyles and, therefore, are aware that information needs to be easily accessible, relevant and adaptable to individual need.

"It is very important that parents receive and have easy access to up-to-date information and resources to enable them to support their child's development."
