CHARITY mascot Barney joined Droitwich Mayor Richard Morris and Mid-Worcestershire MP Peter Luff to help open a new pet charity shop in Droitwich.
The Blue Cross shop was officially opened at 15 St Andrews Street at 3.30pm on Friday when customers joined the celebrations with a glass of wine and found out more about the animal charity's work.
Blue Cross shop manager Aimee Stallard said: "Since we opened our doors we've been really busy with lots of visitors. We've had lots of generous donations, including a rowing machine, watches and other brand new items, which is fantastic.
"All the money raised goes towards the sick and homeless animals cared for by the Blue Cross at its adoption centres and hospitals."
The shop sells clothes and accessories, books, household items, toys and a range of greetings cards.
It also stocks Blue Cross information and pet care advice literature.
Animal lovers who could volunteer in the shop should call 01905 795316 and people are welcome to drop in any saleable donations.
