A MALVERN man caused £400 damage to his girlfriend's home after they had a row, a court heard.
Glenn Butt drank red wine and brandy before he made a series of threats to his partner and police and at one point threatened to bite an officer's head off and "rip his heart out".
Emma Lile, prosecuting, said: "This particular incident was caused by the breakdown of a relationship of two years. She phoned the police that day to say Butt had made threats to cause damage not only to herself but her property."
Miss Lile said officers visited Butt's partner and while they were there they listened to a phone call he made to the house saying he was going to ruin everything in her flat. Miss Lile said police had spotted 27-year-old Butt on a number of occassions later that day near his partner's property and thought they had managed to deter him from committing any offences.
However, officers were later called to the girlfriend's home after she returned to find two wardrobes had been tipped over, a television and dvd player had been smashed on the landing, a computer on the floor, and damage to a kettle and microwave in the kitchen.
Butt, of Moat Crescent, admitted causing criminal damage on Saturday, January 19, when he appeared before Worcester's magistrates on Friday.
Miss Lile said: "He said he didn't want the relationship to come to an end."
In mitigation Andrew Childs said the incident was "petulant" and a result of binge drinking. He said the threats he made to officers were not serious and that his "bark is bigger than his bite."
Mr Childs said: "He accepts that if he carries on in the same vain he will lose everything."
Magistrates ordered a pre-sentence report to be prepared and and adjourned the case until Monday, February 25. He has been released on conditional bail.
