A man has been airlifted to hospital after being hoisted into the air by the kite he was flying.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called after the man fell to the ground and injured his back in Kempseys Common, Bestman Lane, Kempsey.
The freak accident occurred at around 3pm on Sunday, February 3.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "The initial report suggested that the 20-year-old from the St Peter's area of Worcester had been lifted as much as 20 feet into the air by the three metre kite.
"The man had landed on his face and was complaining of severe back pain.
"He was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board before being airlifted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further assessment and treatment."
A rapid response vehicle was at the scene within six minutes and was backed up by the County Air Ambulance from Strensham.
