A development of 45 homes being built in a Worcestershire village has attracted hundreds of potential homebuyers.
County-based estate agent Nicol & Co has been appointed by developer Spitfire Homes to sell the properties currently under construction in Ombersley.
Work started in February, with a cottage and a number of outbuildings being demolished to make way for the new homes on a five-acre plot of land to the north of Woodhall Lane.
When it is finished, the development will feature a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom homes, some of which will be affordable housing.
There will also be areas of green space and a pedestrian link between Woodhall Lane and Holly Lane.
Matt Nicol, managing director of Nicol & Co, said: “Spitfire Homes is a developer that shares our commitment to customer service and delivery, and we are very pleased to be working with them on this, their latest project in Worcestershire.
“Demand for more information is already very strong. We currently have 350 registered enquiries for the 45 properties and will be contacting people over the coming weeks to ascertain their precise requirements.”
Planning permission for new homes in village
Ben Leather, managing director of Spitfire Homes, said: “As a forward-thinking estate agent whose standards and ethos closely align with our own, appointing Nicol & Co to sell our new homes in Ombersley was a simple decision.
“Matt and the team have a clear understanding of the requirements of the local market and a solid grasp on Spitfire Homes’ offer to the market and we look forward to working with them to launch this new collection in the coming weeks.”
Planning permission for the Ombersley site was granted by Wychavon District Council in December 2021 despite a number of objections from Ombersley residents.
They complained that the number of homes proposed for the site had increased to 45 from an initial 25. Neighbours also raised concerns over the impact the development would have on traffic and parking in Woodhall Lane.
Worcestershire County Council’s Highways department said it was satisfied that the plans included 94 car parking spaces and four additional spaces for visitors, plus 86 spaces for bicycles.
