A SHOP home to a lighting business and showroom for about 50 years will soon have a new owner.
The former Nevitt of Worcester in Broad Street will soon be welcoming a new business after the family-run business announced it would be closing.
Worcester News approached Ian Humphries Chartered Surveyor after a for sale sign appeared on the building.
Mr Humphries told us it has been sold subject to contract but provided no details of the buyer.
Andrew Nevitt revealed he had been forced to close down the business for a myriad of reasons, including business rates, parking costs, and the levy he has to pay Worcester BID (Business Improvement District).

He said at the time in February 2020: "After more than 50 years of trading, one of Worcestershire’s oldest established businesses will sadly close this year.
“Owing to the high cost of business rates, car parking, and the BID levy, as well as pressures on the High Street and decreasing footfall, we are no longer able to keep Nevitt Lighting viable.
“We would like to thank all our customers for their support over the years and also our loyal staff who have remained with us through the good and not so good times.”
The premises, 48 Broad Street, was then put up for sale.
