BUDDING young actors, singers and dancers in Worcestershire are being invited to join a new workshop.

Jago Performers is launching Musical Theatre classes to help children learn a host of theatrical skills.

Spokesman Simon Hundley said: "The children will learn all aspects of musical theatre - classic and modern, and will receive friendly coaching to help make them a more versatile young performer.

"They can attend regardless of experience level, whether they're a regular performer or a complete beginner they will be welcomed into class."

The classes will be run by Mr Hundley and Louise Beadle.

Classes will take place at Worcester Arts Workshop on Mondays from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, and workshops are also being organised in Malvern and Kidderminster.

Mr Hundley said: "We decided to start these classes because we don't believe there is anything like this for children to do. There are dance schools and drama classes, but nothing where the kids can try their hand at all three.

"Also, the musical theatre profession is very hot on triple threat, demanding that performers must be able to do all three disciplines - act, sing and dance.

"We hope that our classes will help develop the skills of regular performers, as well as boost the confidence of the more shy children."

The classes are open to children between the ages of eight and 16.
