Alongside music, street performers, colour, and food, Alton Towers is offering an incredible ‘money can’t buy experience’ to more than 30 lucky guests.
Here's everything you need to know about the exclusive experience and some tips to give you the edge!
Alton Towers reveals epic contest as Mardi Gras returns to theme park
Mardi Gras at Alton Towers will run from May 31 to June 19 2022 and will be inspired by the core essence of Mardi Gras which brings together people around the world.
Each themed area of the park will be represented by its own ‘Krewe’, with the brand-new Towers Street Krewe arriving in 2022.
All of the Krewes will be flamboyantly dressed on a showstopping static parade float and will take to the streets throughout the day for some high-energy and colourful live entertainment.
At the start and end of each day on Towers Street, at the main entrance, the Krewes will come together to give guests a chance to pick their favourite and get into the Mardi Gras spirit!
Each morning of the event, a carnival King and Queen will be chosen from amongst the guests and crowned during a lavish ceremony.
The King and Queen will then be treated like royalty for the entire day with an exclusive VIP package which will include platinum fasttracks, food and retail vouchers, entry to the Alton Towers Dungeons, the best seats in the house for the live shows, plus so much more.
If you want to be in the chance of winning, Alton Towers suggests that you try and stand out from the crowd.
You should "don lots of sparkles, beads, and colour, the brighter the better for the chance to be noticed and chosen," the resort advises.
Chris Carter, Events and Entertainments Director at Alton Towers Resort, said: “Mardi Gras is celebrated around the world and it invites people from all communities to come together to enjoy music, entertainment, delicious food, parades and parties.
“We are really excited to see the return of our Mardi Gras inspired takeover at Alton Towers Resort – the core of Mardi Gras worldwide is about bringing people together and celebrating your local community, which is something we are really keen to tap into.
