THERE was an unusual river rescue in Hampton as a car was fished out by a crane.
Reader Steve Wootton watched on as the car, a blue coloured Peugeot, was pulled out of the River Avon at Hampton in Evesham at 1pm on Friday, (May 6).
Mr Wooton said it was not clear how long the vehicle had been in the river at Hampton Ferry, by Raphael’s Restaurant, before the Avon Navigation Trust pulled it out.
"It was full of silt and the back window was really filthy, so some time I would have thought," he said.
"It was interesting to see, hope nobody was hurt when it ended up in the river."
