PLANS for permanent flood defences for Upton-upon-Severn have been unveiled in the town.
The Environment Agency put the designs on show to members of the public yesterday and also gave them a chance to discuss them with staff and professional partners.
The Agency is looking at the possibility of building a permanent flood barrier as a more robust alternative to the temporary barriers currently used.
The designs are not final and residents will have the chance to pass comment before possible sources of funding are pursued.
We reported in your Worcester News last week how full deployment of the barriers costs £4,000 to put up and a further £4,000 to take down, while it also costs £1,500 a day to watch.
The Environment Agency has already revealed it would ideally want permanent flood defences in Hylton Road, Worcester, and has already applied for a £65,000 investment.
