A “grumpy” cat at a Worcestershire rescue centre has had his fortunes turned around since meeting his girlfriend.
Todd arrived at The Holdings RSPCA rehoming centre in February and until now, it didn’t seem like there was much hope in him finding a new family.
But staff now think they have figured out why he was so down in the dumps.
It turns out, he just needed a little company.
Claire Wood, from the Worcester and Mid Worcestershire RSPCA branch, said: “Despite being super handsome, Todd is, unfortunately, a shy boy who can be a bit grumpy and hissy so he keeps getting overlooked.
“However, we have recently introduced him to a young female kitty, and we have definitely seen an improvement in his demeanour.
“Now he no longer hides away in his bed, instead he sits up on his shelf watching the world go by and when his ‘girlfriend’ pays a visit he rubs noses with her, Eskimo style!”
As a result, the rescue centre will be reconsidering his bio, which previously had him down as being an only pet.
Now however it seems that, given the right introductions, he could thrive alongside a female companion.
Mrs Wood added: “If you have a young lady cat who would enjoy the company of a handsome, slightly complicated and somewhat misunderstood guy, then please do get in touch.
“Deep down our Todd is a lover, not a fighter, he just needs a girl who can show him that humans aren't all bad!”
