A man who died after a charity boxing match in Worcester is still raising funds for charity even after his tragic death.

Dominic Chapman died after fighting in an Ultra White Collar Boxing event at Tramps nightclub on Saturday night (April 9).

Paramedics battled to save the 26-year-old after he collapsed in the ring but he later died in hospital.

Dominic, from Droitwich, was raising money for Cancer Research UK by taking part in the match and had set up a JustGiving page with a £400 target.

At the time of writing, nearly £1,200 had been raised with dozens of people donating to the cause in his memory.

Family and friends leaving donations have also been taking the chance to leave tributes to Dominic, with one saying: “Heart-felt condolences to Dominic’s family at this very sad time. Rest in peace Dominic and God bless you and your family.”

One donation was accompanied by the message: “We love you Domo and we’ll miss you forever. Rest easy, darling.”

Family tributes

Dominic’s family and former teachers have also paid touching tributes to “a tremendous young man” whose death have left his family “utterly broken”.

His mum Trish Chapman wrote on the Worcester News Facebook page: “This is my son -  I cannot believe or accept that in six minutes his life has ended. He was the most beautiful perfect man. No words.”

Dominic’s brother Joseph had said the family was “utterly broken to have lost Domo”, adding: “He was the kindest, friendliest and most decent human being I knew. He lit up the lives of all who were fortunate enough to have met him.”

A spokesperson for Worcester Sixth Form College, where Dominic had once been a student, said: “He was a tremendous young man and we are deeply saddened by his passing. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.”

Police have said they are not investigating the death at the Angel Place nightclub, but Worcester City Council has confirmed Worcestershire Regulatory Services (WRS) will be holding an investigation.
