The star of BBC hit comedy Gavin and Stacey is set to perform in a new play at Malvern Theatres starting next week.
Matthew Horne, who played Gavin Shipman, will be starring in Harold Pinter's The Homecoming, which is debuting at Malvern Theatres on Monday, April 18.
He will be starring alongside actor, musician and comedian Keith Allen and Coronation Street star Ian Bartholomew.
Harold Pinter’s 1960s play is widely regarded as his finest play, which has previously won a Tony Award for Best New Play.
Teddy, played by Sam Alexander whose recent TV appearances include Rhys in Emmerdale, is a professor in an American university who returns to his childhood home accompanied by his wife, Ruth, to find his father, uncle and brothers still living there.
In the subsequent series of encounters, life becomes a barely camouflaged battle for power and sexual supremacy fought out with taut verbal brutality.
Mathew Horne is cast as Lenny, Teddy’s enigmatic brother and Keith Allen plays the brutal patriarch, Max.
Matthew Horne has also starred in a wide variety of TV shows including Death in Paradise, bad Education and most recently alongside Catherine Tate in The Nan Movie.
Keith Allen is known for films such as The Others, Kingsman: The Golden Circle and the infamous British band Fat Les who sang Vindaloo.
The four-time Olivier Award nominee Ian Bartholomew (Into The Woods, Radio Times, Mrs Henderson Presents, Half a Sixpence, Coronation Street) plays Sam.
Shanaya Rafaat (of BBC’s Doctor Who) plays Ruth.
The Theatre Royal Bath Production will be at Malvern Theatres from April 18 to 23.
