A BRIT Award winner and a living legend are among the big names playing live music in Worcester this year.
A number of acts have confirmed they’ll be playing gigs in the city, with even more lined up for festivals in and around the county.
This is our roundup of the big names coming to Worcester in 2022.
Sir Tom Jones
Legendary singer Sir Tom Jones is bringing his 2022 tour to Worcester’s Pitchcroft on Saturday, August 13.
The Welsh star kicks off his Surrounded By Time series of shows with two dates at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in June and will perform in Halifax, Carlisle, Edinburgh, Scarborough and at the Henley on Thames Festival before coming to Worcester.
Sir Tom’s tour concludes with a show at Audley End House and Gardens in Essex the day after his appearance at Pitchcroft.
“We know it will be one epic party night in Worcester with the one and only Sir Tom Jones singing both his classic and newer material,” a tour spokesperson said.
James Bay
BRIT Award winning singer and songwriter James Bay is set to headline a Live After Racing event at Worcester Racecourse this summer.
Bay, famous for songs including Hold Back The River and Let It Go, will take to the stage on Saturday, June 11 following a full day of racing at the Pitchcroft venue.
Fans can expect to hear both his anthemic back-catalogue and material from his highly-anticipated third album.
The Coral
Believe it or not, it’s been 20 years since The Coral released their eponymous debut album.
To celebrate the anniversary of an album that was a hit with both fans and critics, singer James Skelly and keyboardist Nick Power are touring an acoustic set and will come to Worcester’s Huntingdon Hall on Sunday, October 30.
As well as songs such as Dreaming Of You and Goodbye, fans can expect plenty of chat and the chance to ask the questions they’ve always wanted to put to the band.
Lakefest 2022
A host of big names have been announced for Lakefest, which is held in the grounds of Eastnor Castle, near Ledbury, between August 11 and 14.
Manic Street Preachers, Supergrass, UB40, Louise Redknapp, Leftfield, The Reytons, Reef, Voice Unlimited and The Feeling are all on the bill for 2022.
The Manic will headline the Saturday night while UB40 will take the Thursday night legends slot.
