FOODIES are excited to see Worcester’s vegan market return to the city this summer.
The market, which came to Worcester for the first time in September 2021, is coming back on Saturday June 18.
The event promises vegan street food vendors, artisan bakers, craft brewers, ethical jewellers2, small-batch soapers, artists, charities and zero-waste champions.
From 11am to 6pm it will take over the High Street and Cathedral Square, with stalls and food trucks offering a huge range of cuisines.
Back in September, stall holders came from near and far to display their vegan-friendly goods.
Worcester couple Paul and Coleen Williams were there with their vegan cooking sauces, inspired by their travels around the world.
Satpal Singh, the creator of a line of vegan nail polishes, had never been to Worcester before.
“I was excited to come here to Worcester because I felt the people here would understand my product and what I am about - and I was right,” said Mr Singh, who is from Birmingham. “This is an absolutely beautiful city and the people have been fantastic.”
Mr Singh previously worked for a high end cosmetics brand but was made redundant in lockdown.
“I wanted to create a product that really nourished people's nails and skin without the harsh chemicals,” he said. “Sustainability is also very important to me. When I lost my job I saw it as an opportunity to do it differently and it has been a fantastic journey.”
Worcester Vegan Market will also come to the city centre on Saturday October 22.
