FISH suppers are back on the menu for a Worcester chippie which has only just re-opened after flooding last summer.
Pete's Plaice in Broadway Grove, St John's, was forced to shut in July after being swamped by three feet of floodwater which caused £53,000 worth of building and contents damage.
Manager Walter Truscott, who has run the shop for seven years, said: "We've got a brook behind us and the whole area was under water. We've got a neighbour who has lived opposite for 47 years and they've never seen anything like it.
"It was disastrous really."
Since July, builders have stripped the chip shop back to the brickwork and replastered, raised the floor by six feet and replaced all the damaged equipment.
Mr Truscott added: "It's virtually a new shop."
He said insurance delays were to blame for the length of time the refit had taken but he was just glad to be back behind the counter.e added: "We
