A FIRE engine donated by Worcestershire's fire service has arrived in East Poland.
The engine will be used to help firefighters on the frontline in Ukraine.
An appliance from Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) set out on Friday to join a convoy of 21 other vehicles donated by UK fire services.
The engines arrived in east Poland at around 7pm on Monday, with the HWFRS team giving the Polish firefighters some training on how to use it, before flying back to the UK.
Charity Fire Aid helped to organise the delivery.
A charity spokesperson said: "Today vital fire and rescue equipment was handed over to the Polish fire service for Ukraine.
"Well done to all involved for mobilising and delivering this equipment so quickly.
"What a great example of collaboration at its finest."
The fire engine, which had recently been removed from HWFRS' fleet, follows the donation of several tonnes of PPE and rescue equipment last week.
Speaking before they arrived, HWFRS Chief Fire Officer Jon Pryce said: "The commitment and offers of support from our staff to assist in this initiative has been outstanding and we are pleased to do anything we can to help Ukraine’s firefighters during this very difficult time.
"I'm proud that HWFRS has donated a fire engine and a considerable amount of surplus or end of life equipment, with two of our firefighters driving over to Europe to deliver it.
“This has been a superb joint effort by many of our staff and I’m pleased that we have been able to do our bit to help the NFCC and national charity Fire Aid."
