A WOMAN from Malvern accused of taking part in a protest unlawfully is due in court today.
Jennifer D'Netto, of Rothwell Road, Malvern, is accused of taking part in a protest at a food processing site in Scunthorpe.
The 52 year-old has since been charged with obstructing or disrupting a person engaged in lawful activity in the protest, which took place on July 16 last year at OSI Foods.
The charge states that: "having trespassed on land and in relation to a lawful activity, namely employees entering their place of work, which persons were engaged in on adjoining land, did an act, namely use intimidating acts, blocking the entrance preventing employees entering their place of work, which you intended to have the effect of obstructing or disrupting that activity."
D'Netto is set to appear before Humber Magistrates Court on Tuesday, March 22.
In the protest last year, members of the group Animal Rebellion blocked the gates to the food site with a large Happy Meal box.
The group wants McDonald's to be completely plant-based by 2025.
We previously reported how a case concerning another protest by Animal Rebellion, also concerning D'Netto, had been discontinued earlier this year.
