A STUDENT survey has heaped praise on support services at a Worcester college.
Worcester College of Technology is celebrating after the results of a survey recognised its service and support to students on their arrival at the college.
A spokesman said: "The survey enables the college to focus on the areas where inductions and support are a benefit for the students.
"Without this survey the college is unaware of problem areas and students' views on their first experiences at the college."
Students who took part in the survey commented "with great praise" about the college, saying things such as: "The teaching is of an amazingly high standard", and "the tutors on my course are friendly and they make you feel welcome".
Results from the survey indicated that 97 per cent of students felt that the college made it easy to start their course and 95 per cent of students liked going to college.
The spokesman said: "This reinforces the supportive environment, which the college promotes and is encouraging to the student services department that carries out the survey."
Further results showed 96 per cent of students felt they were made "very welcome" on their first day at college and 99 per cent felt that the college gives students very good chances to learn.
But the best results came in the leadership and management category with 98 per cent of students saying they would recommend the college to a friend and 94 per cent feeling that the college was open and supportive to all people.
Since the survey has been completed the college has gone on to enroll nearly 3,000 full time students and nearly 12,000 part-time students.
