A dog rescue charity in Kempsey is delivering humanitarian aid to the Ukraine border on its latest dog rescue mission.
Volunteers from Amicii Dog Rescue regularly make the trip to Romania to bring back rescued animals, but this time they are taking supplies for refugees with them.
Dr Ann Pursey, founder of Amicii Dog Rescue, and her partner Clive Morris set out on Saturday.
Dr Pursey Said: "We go to Romania fairly regularly as we support a dog rescue in Transylvania.
We have been hearing about the ongoing situation and we thought it would not be too difficult to make a diversion and take humanitarian supplies near the border.
"Most people are dropping people at a collection point at the border and Ukrainian military personnel are taking things into the country.
"Over 100,000 people have already crossed and a refugee camp has been set up whilst a decision is made about their next destination so that is where we are heading."
The couple has had lots of supplies donated by members of the public after sharing the news of their journey online.
Dr Pursey said: "We had a great response, in fac,t we had more than we could actually carry on our own.
"We have all sorts of things. Clothes, rucksacks and bags, sleeping bags and blankets, medical supplies and baby supplies are all on board with us.
"We have some food as well but we are restricted with what we can take due to customs, so dog food was not allowed either sadly.
"People have been incredibly kind as they often are in these situations."
Amicii Dog Rescue was founded back in 2014.
The couple is expected to arrive in Romania on Tuesday (March 22) and are due to return next weekend with 20 dogs from Romania that they are rehoming locally.
Dr Pursey said: " Many of the dogs have already been adopted so a lot of excited people will soon have new dogs which is lovely.
"Once they have settled after the journey they will be able to join their new families."
