THEFTS: Sam Wood has carried out a string thefts - and he was carrying knives.
The court heard that Wood had already admitted three of the theft offences on November 16 last year.
Mark Turnbull, defending, asked that the case be adjourned so a pre-sentence report could be prepared by the probation service.
The solicitor said the starting point for carrying a bladed article was six months custody. He said: "There's a risk of custody and, for that reason, I would ask for a pre-sentence report in relation to these matters. There are a number of things going on for Mr Wood and it raises a number of possibilities."
Sumreen Afsar, prosecuting, said the knife offences had a starting point of six months and a range of three months to a year in custody.
Magistrates adjourned the case until May 9 for an all-options pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Wood was granted bail in the meantime.
