FOOTBALL supporters have been praised for their good behaviour at yesterday's game between Hereford United and Cardiff City.
Chief Inspector Shane Hancock said the large policing operation, with more than 100 officers on duty, had been a success.
Police had prevented known troublemakers from both Hereford and Cardiff causing any significant problems or becoming involved in any serious confrontations.
He praised the overwhelming majority of supporters for their good behaviour.
"The match went off without significant any significant problems and the large crowd was able to watch the game in good atmosphere," he said.
Police made four arrests as a result of the match following an isolated incident which was quickly dealt with by the police. The men were arrested for criminal damage.
