It's a shame that this decent double-album starts with such a weak track, namely the over-played, sickly sweet X-Factor single A Moment Like This by Leona Lewis.

Fortunately, what follows is a very satisfying, easy-listening love compilation, from classics (Al Green's Let's Stay Together) via modern pop hits (Beyonce's Irreplaceable) to all-out 80s power ballads (Cyndi Lauper's cover of Roy Orbison's I Drove All Night.

Some tracks are best skipped - Il Divo's poor version of Nights In White Satin for instance - but there more than a few gems.

On disc one is Newton Faulker, the dreadlocked singer songwriter who made a name for himself in 2007 and is, quite rightly, tipped for even bigger things in 2008, as well as the upbeat You're Love Alone by Manic Street Preachers featuring Nina Persson (The Cardigans).

Disc two boasts the likes of Michael Jackson, Nina Simone, Elvis Presley, Billy Joel and - my not-so-secret guilty pleasure - Will Young.

This isn't a CD my husband won't want played in the car but I will no doubt reach for if I'm feeling a bit Bridget Jones.
