CHILDREN enjoyed a treat with a difference at Worcester library by taking part in an Australia Day.
The library hosted a number of activities with an Australian twist on Saturday, including themed sing-along sessions and Australian-themed books being read at storytime.
Librarian Tiffany O'Dell said the day was a huge success. "It went really well and we must have had more than 50 people in."
"It really achieved the aim we had, which was getting more families coming in with children.
"The children really enjoyed the craftwork and we now have a large collage of kangaroos and koalas.
"We also issued hundreds more books, which is great. It was a really nice atmosphere."
The library, in Foregate Street, Worcester, is holding a series of events throughout the year. The next one is on Saturday, February 9, between 10am and 4pm. Instead of a theme from Down Under, visitors will be treated to a Chinese new year celebration.
