AS a child, a few years of 90s television meant I had long dreamed of going to school in America.

Shows like Boy Meets World and Saved by the Bell gave me a sugar-coated idea of what school was like in The States.

And, of course, there was nothing I wanted more than to arrive at school in the iconic big yellow school bus.

Now aged 30-something it is obviously too late for me to attend high school but I jumped at the chance to climb aboard one of the iconic buses.

Toast, at The Flyford in Flyford Flavell, has converted a former school bus into a dining room.

The first diners were welcomed aboard on Friday (March 4) and we were given a sneak peek, as well as some tasty breakfast, beforehand.

As soon as you turn into the car park, you cannot miss the bright yellow bus which drew a lot of attention.

It was a grey drizzly day but it certainly stood out and people were pulling out their phones for a picture with the bus.

Stepping inside, my childhood ambition was complete - and best of all it came with a delicious cooked breakfast too.

Inside, much has been kept the same though lighting has been added, seating has been reconfigured and a deep clean has been carried out too.

Everything else is pretty much kept the same - the driver's seat is still intact and even some of the controls still work.

Thankfully, given the current weather, there is also heating inside which will be music to dog walkers' ears, many of which pop into Toast.

Toast director Morgan Sanders said: "I am really looking forward to seeing people enjoy it.

Worcester News:

"Me and my dad are very similar - we love the initial set up but what we enjoy most is seeing people enjoy the end result.

"We had a trial run during the recent storm because we were forced to use it because people couldn't sit outside and they loved it.

"A few people didn't want to sit in it but when they came in and actually sat down they realised how spacious it is.

"I think it is a bit of a Tardis - it's a bit deceiving."

Worcester News:

Already, Toast gets fully booked and staff have to turn away disappointed customers so it is probably best to make sure you book ahead.

However, the outside of the pub is available for walk-ins where outdoor heaters, blankets and covers make it warm even in the rain.

Worcester News:

Already, it has attracted interest from Instagram influencers and I'm willing to bet it won't be long until your timeline is filled with pictures of people aboard the bus.

Transport-obsessed children will also love having their breakfast sat inside along with those big kids who will enjoy the novelty.
