A legendary British house music DJ is coming to perform in Worcester tonight.

DJ Terry Farley will be coming to Alexanders Nightclub tonight (Friday 25), to perform a set.

Terry Farley is one of the pioneers of British house music and is one of the founders of the record label Junior Boy's Own, whose most successful acts include Underworld and The Chemical Brothers.

Farley is among a host of DJs that Worcester based promoters, In My System, is looking to bring to the city to enhance the nightlife experience.

He regularly DJs for Ministry of Sound in London and has performed at festivals across the world.

Scott Jenkins, of In My Systems, said: "Back in the 90's we saw some impressive house music DJ's coming to the city and in recent years there have been the odd one or two, but we are focused on the real legends.

"The ones that started and formed dance music as it is today, like Terry Farley, who is one of the people synonymous with defining house music in the UK.

"We are a monthly house music event on the last Friday of every month, and it's our mission to put Worcester back on the clubbing map."

At the end of last year, the promotion hosted Norman Jay MBE at Alexanders, a popular British DJ who rose to prominence in the 1980s, performing at warehouse parties and hosting on radio station Kiss FM, BBC London and most recently Soho Radio.
