A PROLIFIC shoplifter who stole Ben and Jerry's ice cream has been banned from entering any Co-op store in the country - and several other Worcester supermarkets.

Jacob Telford, 22, of Maple Avenue, Tolladine, Worcester was made subject to a criminal behaviour order at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Monday.

By the terms of the three year order he was banned from entering: any Co-op store; Costcutter in Ankerage Green in Warndon Villages, Worcester; Spar in Cranham Drive, Warndon, Worcester; the Lower Wick filling station including the forecourt.Worcester News:

We reported last September how Telford was convicted of the theft of items of value unknown from Co-op in Gresham Road, Worcester on February 8 last year and of another theft from the Co-Op in Ambleside Drive, Warndon, on February 22 last year during which he stole meat and Ben and Jerry's ice cream worth £25, the charges against him proved in his absence.

He was remanded in custody until September 27. We reported in July how he fled Worcester Magistrates Court during a cigarette break.

He then faced four theft charges - shoplifting of meat worth £234 from Co-op in Worcester on July 30, 2020; stealing £50 of meat from Co-op on September 14 2020; theft of £83.50 in packets of steak from Lower Wick Filling Station on October 10, 2020 and stealing £71 of meat products from Lower Wick Filling Station on January 16 last year.
