A key road in Worcester could be closed today with flood water rising.

The county council's highways team is warning of heavy traffic in Hylton Road.

This is after it was reduced to one lane near Worcester Bridge after Storm Franklin caused the river to rise.

A tweet from Worcestershire County Council Highways said they would keep the road open "as long as possible."

It said: "Traffic at the bottom of Hylton Road, Worcester is currently restricted to one lane only by the garage - there is water on the road but the road and bridge are still open.

"Please expect delays crossing from west towards the city centre - we will maintain access as long as possible."
