PARENTS and carers wondering what to do during half term fear no more as we have complied a list.

A number of activities have been organised, and if you want even more good news, they are all free.

Play, sport and Craft

There are play, sport and craft activities, for children aged between two and 11-years-old, which have been organised by Perdiswell Young People's Leisure Club and Disability Sport Worcestershire.

Here is a list of where activities are being held:

  • Monday, February 21:

Saffron Children Centre, 11am to 1pm

Perdiswell Skate Park, 11am to 3pm

  • Tuesday, February 22:

Worcester Crowngate Shopping Centre, outside Superdrug, Friary Walk, 11am to 3pm

Fun Reading 

Meanwhile, The Hive has organised fun book reading from authors.

Sessions are free of charge, and there is no need to book.

All sessions take place between 10.30am and 11.30am.

They are being held:

  • Saturday, February 19: Scruff the Pooch for Pre-school and early readers - read by author, Giles Trigg, this interactive session will also allow those attending the chance to make their own Scruff the Pooch pictures and cards to take away.
  • Monday, February 21: Tell the Time with George the Cat for ages four to eight-years-old - read by author, Jane McGee, this fun session will help children learn to tell the time by reading, looking at beautiful illustrations and playing fun interactive time-telling activities featuring George, a railway cat who lives at Stourbridge Junction Station.
  • Wednesday, February 23: Read and Rhyme with Jingles the Puppy for children aged four to six-years-old - Join Jingles, a cute and curious terrier puppy with a big personality, on her many exciting adventures, led by author Mark Farmer.

Those attending can have a go at drawing your own book character and experiment with rhyming words.

Lego workshop

Also at the Hive  on Tuesday, February 22 there is a Lego Mind storm workshop for people aged 11 to 14-year-old.

Organisers say: "Help the British Army to deliver aid using Lego Mind-storm.

"Learn how to build, programme and operate the Lego Mind-storm robots and undertake a series of logistical challenges in order to achieve your mission."

Organisers add there are limited places for the session, taking place between 10.30am and 12.30pm, so people need to book a place in advance for the free activity through the library's website, thehiveworcester.org.
